Island of excellence

Aiman Khursheed

Pakistan may be home to a multitude of talent but the state of its education is pulling it under. However, all is not lost as there exist islands of excellence that can show the way to the rest.

Haani Public Girls High School is located in Latifabad unit no 7. The daily attendance rate is 90%. All the classes are run as per the announced scheduled and both the teachers as well as the students are committed to the academics. The staff of the school is very responsible and supervises every activity of the students.

The school runs a primary section class one to eight in afternoons/evenings and the morning for Class IX and X. The teachers are always available for the right class at the right time.

One of the girl students told me that their teachers are very particular and punctual in running their classes. The syllabus is covered on time and revised before the exams.

The student said that in one class there are about 30 plus students, most of whom are responsible. For such type of government schools, the government should take demonstrable measures to encourage them. This will help enhance the quality of education in general.
